Under the joint-venture company between TKSB and Ensign-Bickford Company (EBCo) which is known as TKEB (Tenaga Kimia Ensign Bickford), an advanced manufacturing facility had been constructed to assemble non-electric detonators in 2002. These machines were tested and run with full capacity in 2003 to produce non-electric detonators under EBCo’s trademark, PRIMADET™ and the trade name was subsequently changed to NONEL™ after EBCo was bought over by Dyno Nobel worldwide.

There are 3 production lines which has the capacity to produce upto 5 million pieces of non-electric detonators annually. These production lines consist of winder, coiler, sealer, tagger and crimpler which are semi/fully automated to enhance assembly process and reduce human errors. Most of the detonator assembly components are manufactured and supplied by our principal. TKEB is capable of producing wide range of non-electric detonator products such as millisecond (MS) series, long period (LP) series, trunk-lines series (EZTL and NTD) as well as double-head detonator series (EZdet). With stringent quality control in both incoming and finished products, TKEB guarantees the best is being produced for our customers.

Recently in 2009, TKEB further expanded their operations to include manufacturing the delay elements, thus going upstream for better inventory and cost management.

Besides being the leader in supplying non-electric detonators to the Malaysian market, TKEB also exports to neighbouring countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Laos, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
